National Voters Day, SVEEP Action Plan event held at GCW M. A. Road

Department of Political Science, Govt. College for Women, M.A. Road Srinagar organised valedictory function of the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Action Plan 2019 on April 30, 2019.
The event was presided over by Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Yasmeen Ashai. In her address she talked about the importance of women emancipation and Women Reservation Bill. Prof. Ashai appreciated the students and the Department of Political Science for organizing such events.
The principal also distributed certificates among the students who participated in various programmes under SVEEP Action Plan.
Meanwhile, in connection with National Voters Day, a debate was held on the topic ‘Women Reservation Bill: A Welcome Step’. Around nine students participated in the debate. The debate was judged by Prof. Neelam Jan, Prof. Sahihda Jabeen and Prof. (Dr.) N A Simnani. The winners were felicitated on the occasion. Earlier, HOD Political Science, Prof. Neelam Jan presented the welcome address followed by SVEEP Activities report presentation by Prof. Sajad Manzoor.

Department Profile

Department of Journalism & Mass Communication is one of the youngest family members at Government College for Women, M.A. Road. In a short period of time, the department has been able to carve its own identify at the campus.
