A two-day photography workshop for journalism students of Government College for Women M A Road, Srinagar which was attended by prominent photojournalist Javed Shah concluded on Wednesday.

The college’s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication held the two-day photography workshop for its Semester I and Semester II students.
Renowned Photojournalist Mr. Javed Shah, who has about 25 years of experience, was the resource person for the event. He shared his experiences with the students and explained to them the skills that a photojournalist needs to possess.
Shah talked about his works and gave tips to the students about composition and lighting.
The workshop included a practical session in which the students clicked pictures and got them analysed by Mr. Shah.
Mr. Shah, who has worked with prestigious national and international organisations such as Indian Express and Mint, was impressed with the enthusiasm shown by the students. He hoped that they would end up in the field that is otherwise devoid of a female photojournalist.

The workshop concluded with a vote thanks from the Coordinator of the department, Prof Peer Mohammad Yasin.
“With the support of our principal Prof. Shaheen Altaf, we have been able to conduct such programs. They are meant to benefit students. We shall continue making efforts for their welfare,” he said.
