Srinagar: Students of Women’s College, M.A Road, complain that the hygiene at the college’s canteen was very poor.

The students allege that mice could be seen roaming inside the canteen raising question mark over the safety of the food available in the canteen.

“We often go to the canteen. Last week we witnessed rats going around the premises,” said a group of students from arts department.

However, the canteen proprietor dismissed the complaints of the students as “false”. He refused to talk further over the issue.

A passing survey of the canteen revealed the messy state of affairs inside its kitchen.

Neither was the kitchen properly cleaned nor the utensils present inside. The hair of the cook of the canteen was also not properly covered.

The students also complained that the food served to them was not properly cooked.
