In September 2017, the department received a letter from Additional Secretary University Grants Commission (UGC) regarding a National University Film Making Competition to spread awareness on ragging among students. The letter was appended with a cover letter from Registrar Cluster University Srinagar. The department engaged students for the same and they came up with two short films on theme of ragging titled- ‘The Rebuke’ and ‘Broken Knot’. The films entries were sent to UGC through Cluster University. In an in-house screening, the films were appreciated by the faculty.
